Cycling

I am an avid cyclist, and I have been riding bikes since I was a little girl. As a young girl, I would go on long bike rides by myself because I enjoyed riding so much. I married Ray in 1989, and we had three kids who rode bikes with us from an early age.

For many years, we rode miles and miles on Salt Lake valley roads. I also spent many hours in my home riding on a “dumb trainer.” I find that regularly riding keeps me in shape and helps me to feel better.

I now ride about 20 miles almost daily on Zwift. Riding on Zwift gives me the health, fitness, and social interaction with fellow cyclists that I crave. Zwift also helps me to improve my performance through workouts, group rides, races, and world events.

Ray and I also go on gravel rides because I want to ride through the beauty of Utah, and I want to avoid riding with lots of cars. I used to do road-based bicycle rides a lot with my family, but traffic has become too dangerous for a road cyclist in the Salt Lake valley.
